This project started with cooking, but it quickly became about more than just food.
Thai meals are meant to be shared — dishes in the center of the table, eaten together, talked over. That idea of sharing naturally extends beyond the meal itself. When I host these small, family-style Thai dinners, every seat at the table is part of something bigger.
Port Washington has been my home for a long time, and the sense of community here shapes this project in a real way. It’s a town built on showing up for one another — supporting local businesses, helping quietly, and caring about what happens close to home. That spirit is something I want these dinners to reflect.
An important part of this project is to help increase awareness of local charities doing meaningful work that don’t always get the attention they deserve. These dinners are a way to shine a small light on those organizations, encouraging conversation, curiosity, and giving beyond the meal.
Each dinner is intentionally small and centered on what I’ve been learning and practicing. Rather than charging a traditional price, guests participate through a minimum donation with every dinner supporting a local charity.
The goal is connection — through food, through community, and through generosity. It’s an ongoing passion project where the food evolves, the learning continues, and the mission remains the same: bring people together, eat delicious food, and give more.
